I've seen the minutes where Kate Archard voted no. And no I don't know her. When I have time I'll find the official minutes and you can see for yourself.
And I have nothing against purchasing the damn fire truck and never said so. And let's cut your paycheck and raise your property taxes. Especially after you said your wouldn't. See how that feels.

This is the problem with politics today. These two sentences do not go together. Either he did or did not raise taxes. You can't on one hand say he's held the line...oh except for that teeny weeny increase. NO. He raised taxes, period. I don't live in Brockton, don't have a horse in this race so it's not anti Carpenter or anti anyone.
Or the other one, which permeates this site. I don't want any tax increases, well except police. Or fire. Or schools. Or insert personal favorite line item here.
Either you are against raising taxes or for raising taxes. There should be no "except" in your statement.
You can't fix stupid.

allowing tax free to every and anyone and that means EVERYONE!! There's your money. Now wasn't that easy?

BROCKTON – "Mayor Bill Carpenter announced today that for the 2016 fiscal year, the city’s proposed values for businesses and residences have increased by over $600 million to $6.1 billion. This is an increase of more than 10 percent.
This announcement benefits businesses and home owners of the city as it relects improving real estate values. In addition, the city anticipates approval of taxation of new investment called “new growth” of more than $2.9 million, by far the largest in the city’s history.
“The new growth represents new investment in the city and this is tangible confirmation that our economic development strategies to establish Brockton as an attractive place to invest and do business are paying dividends,” said Carpenter.
The city has submitted its proposed assessed values to the Department of Revenue for its approval. The city is obliged to assess all property at full and fair cash value. The Department of Revenue reviews the city’s values for compliance."
Serious question how does this impact property tax/values?

My neighborhood has had homes up for sale. They been bought quickly and young families/couples are moving in.
A lot of shootings before election day wont help Carpenter.
I live in Brockton now.

BG, just checked my house and it decreased....
So far, looks like most incumbents are back. Think Jack Lally won Ward 6!! 18 year old college student!!
Mayor Carpenter re-elected by large margin.
Cruise, Monyhan, Eanieri....Ward 1/2/3. May be an upset in Ward 7 School committee.
