I don't think that the elimination of Mainspring is the answer though, as much as you guys don't like it. We need to take care of those who need help. We need to find a way to provide and at the same time keep the streets safe.

It would be cheaper in the long run to build a rehab institution instead of more and more shelters.
All of that money could have been better spent doing this.

or, do they find the fortitude to go elsewhere where some other agency can serve their needs?
the thing is, homelessness is a commodity... it is an industry, and there is money to be made there

the issue has many layers, and they are being addressed.... there are plans to change the dynamic of what main spring is, and what it will become
...and it can't come soon enough

If we could weed out the people who are not drug addicts or alcoholics and concentrate on innocent circumstances, you’d be amazed.
Don’t ever judge the innocent!

the sweeping generalizations are remarkable...sigh
9 out of 10 people who are homeless, are homeless due to mental healh issues... and 8 out of the 9 more often than not self-medicate to allay their psychological, emotional and sometimes even physical affliction
it's terrible, and very sad

Terrible attitude to not want to know their issue. Granted the majority are addicts, but what about those who to no fault of their own had terrible incidents that put them where they are?boxerfamily wrote: I do not care their issues....they are not helping the city!! Send them packing........find a wooded area for them and place a keg of beer there every day!! It will solve the issue!
