City Council Meeting -Tax Hike
m.enterprisenews.com/article/20151116/NEWS/151116657/13406/NEWS
"In what is considered a self-financing project, the Brockton City Council is set to vote on Monday over authorizing $2.8 million in bonds for a project by Ameresco to provide energy conservation improvements to city-owned buildings."That’s a self financing project," said Brockton’s chief financial officer, John Condon. "The savings is in excess of the cost of the equipment. ... Those savings are guaranteed as long as we utilize it properly."
Former Brockton mayor Jack Yunits sent a message to the Brockton City Council on behalf of Ameresco, describing the project as the largest energy conservation measure that the Brockton Building Department "has ever undertaken."

From the Enterprise: "The residential tax rate is down from the $18.15 per thousand dollars of assessed value from fiscal year 2015, but the overall value of Brockton homes has spiked since then."

Framingham has already partnered with Ameresco. $380,000 per year in savings and not on the taxpayers back. I don't think that's a bad thing. So what if Yunits makes a few bucks off the deal.

Ha - I agree with you. But, I can imagine the complaints now - baseball/softball over soccer in Brockton?dadof2 wrote: Not sure what it means, was passed to Real Estate Committee. Interested in the reference to Sports Complex. I'm assuming, (which is never a good thing) that this is a private company not utilizing public funds. It maybe the space that Brockton Power will renovate for Soccer field as promised to Carpenter as part of their deal. Though I really wish he'd commit the space to baseball/softball field instead.

Isn't there a field that was built on Centre St, I believe the field was called Snow field. My understanding is that it is unplayable due to ground water saturation? Or it is not draining properly? I could be totally wrong but that is what I've heard.
