CC Still pursuing Lawsuit?
Enterprise 3/4 per J. Markman
But, at the same time, Carpenter and the city’s attorneys admitted the lawsuit will not actually go away unless the project breaks ground in an industrial park on Oak Hill Way.
Before the status of the lawsuit can change – for example, the fact discovery deadline is fast approaching this July – both sides must go before a federal judge.
A status conference on the lawsuit is scheduled for March 24. Douglas Louison, an outside attorney representing the city, said he anticipates the city and developers will ask the judge to suspend the case and put on hold the current trial preparation timeline.

BROCKTON -- The City Council plans to take action in the ongoing fight over a Brockton power plant next week.
Apparently after the Finance Committee met in Executive Session AGAIN,
Per the Enterprise, Afterward, they would only say that they directed their attorneys to take action during a March 24 status conference scheduled to take place at U.S. District Court in Boston.
Interestingly, there had been rumors over the last week or so, the CC was going to stop litigating. Not sure what this means.

Douglas Louison, an outside attorney representing the city, said previously that he anticipated the city and developers will ask the judge to suspend the case and put on hold the current trial preparation timeline, based on the settlement agreement.
City Council President Dennis Eaniri would not detail the council’s strategy, which was formed during a closed-door session at the beginning of Monday night’s Finance Committee meeting. Eaniri did say, however, that “the water issue is still the concern.”
Several councilors and plant opponents have said they do not believe the
mayor can legally sell the wastewater on his own because of Brockton’s “strong” council, “weak” mayor form of government and a city ordinance giving control of the water to the council.

I've read her posts, she's no worse than Ron Packard, Chris Lovetre or anyone of the STP zealots. She actually makes more sense than them

What I find the most amusing is how many times I was called a paid blogger by someone who is in fact ..... a paid blogger.
Of course in those discussions I use my real name, and have been 100% honest about my relationships (none what so ever) with anyone involved in city government or the developers. Yet, myself and others are continually referred to as being on the payroll or in some inner circle.
It's amazing today that people who practice propaganda spreading in the age of the interwebs, believe that they will not be found out as the frauds they are. At the same time however, it is very sad how many and how quickly people decide to swallow all the misinformation hook, line, and sinker. That's the real issue in the information age, that people still let others tell them how to think.
Worse than that by far, is how the city council has been hooked by groups like this. Their latest rants are throwing councilor Monahan under the bus now. Because, he has the ability to speak his own mind and not just repeat, verbatim, the accepted propaganda.
If our current councilors are that weak minded, spineless, or just plain afraid of losing their posts, that they will let a single business owner put that much fear in them and direct their decision making.... it is time to oust just about all of them.
