Any attempt by the other candidates to spin this as a last minute no show, shows how desperate their campaigns are.

Whether a host venue opens its doors for a debate/forum, is up to them. And I'm sure the logistics of space and accommodation is a factor in that decision. The August 31 forum aired live on both BCA and WATD, and has been posted online. The Metro South Chamber of Commerce forum on Friday, was posted online within 24 hours after the event. So the public has had ample and timely access to them.

The invitation to do a second WATD debate was declined on September 2. While the other candidates were campaigning in Marshfield on Saturday, the Mayor spent the day attending events in the City of Brockton and meeting with Brockton residents.

Thank you Jason. I remember the agreement to two debates then all of a sudden there was a third being pasted all over the HUB that the Mayor did not attend.

I personally don't hold much credence in endorsements. I vote for whom I want not based on someone else's opinion. I do find it ironic the Stewart endorsed him. Stewart is a named defendant in the Power Plant suit. But to each his own.

I was speculating something really big like,
the power plant people withdrew and now intend to build a massive salad dressing plant
the desal folks offered to sellout to the city for One Dollar
the casino developer offered to cover the entire school budget for ten years
big foot was captured in DW Field Park

Brockton already has too many "pickle makers" working Main St.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Mayor Bill Carpenter
"Why am I endorsing Bill Carpenter for Mayor? Something I've never done before in a public forum like this. We're very different people. We have different personalities. Very different styles, and different ways of doing business. But that's the how. And we have to be careful not to get too bogged down on the how because I like to focus on the big stuff. I like to focus on the why and the what. The why is so clear. I am endorsing you because you care about this city and the people in this room and the future of Brockton. The what is so apparent as well. The many amazing accomplishments that this mayor has delivered to Brockton in a very short period of time, the what is so monumental and so exhausted and they should not go under appreciated, the kind of effort it takes to deliver on that kind of what.
So I am here today because I am grateful, thankful, and I am looking forward to two more years of you doing more amazing things. With your leadership and your vision, with our teamwork, I really do think the sky is the limit. Thank you for your service Mr. Mayor. Two more years!"---Brockton City Councilor Jass Stewart

Better for him to focus on those of us who care enough to go to the polls. I received a Carpenter insert in my mailbox today. Thought we are all registered and active voters and we live in a house we own, it is addressed to us only by last name "or Current Resident." I am insulted that they could not muster up a first name of one of us or check records to see if we live here. Message to Mayor Carpenter: You have no chance of us voting for you now. Guess he will also not be knocking on our door. Funny, they know who lives here when they want to bother us with phone solicitations.
Insulted? LOL! Wow, doesn't take much to discourage you does it? It doesn't upset me that he doesn't know who I am, I've seen him in MB a couple Sunday mornings (I like that he supports local businesses). I could have run up to him and introduced myself and pumped his hand half a dozen times but I can guarantee he wouldn't remember me if he met me again. I don't care. He's doing a good job as Mayor and to me that is all that counts. So he can call me current resident if he wants, as long as he keeps doing what he's doing.
