I apologize if this is not the correct political thread to continue to discuss the total voter participation. the total
Enterprise, " The Brockton Elections Commission reported that voter participation in the citywide mayoral election was about 33 percent, with 15,211 votes cast in the race from a total 46,109 registered Brockton voters.
In total, 15,491 ballots were counted, although not everyone voted in the mayoral race."
A ballot which included, state senate, mayor, and city council at large positions, motivated only one in three registered voters. Leaves me wondering if the 2/3 majority who did not vote are passively content with the status quo or actively frustrated with the process.
This should put a cork on the STP and anti casino and desal babble.

Charlie, I thought this would make a great subject on it's own.
So I moved this to start it!

I think Wardseven, its a combination of not caring; and ok with the status quo. I also think some people think they individually can't make a difference. Ah, speak to the Ward 5 winner/loser.

I believe i registered at the end of high school. However i did this, over 20 years ago, was super simple and brought to me. I did not go out of my way to register. Then i didn't vote for a number of years.

I'm not positive but I think if you don't vote after a number of years you have to register again. I'll try and look that up.

Removal from the List of Inactive Voters
Inactive voters remain registered to vote until they fail to vote in two consecutive biennial state elections. Inactive voters are restored to the active voters list any time they complete an affirmation of current and continuous residence, fill out a new voter registration form, or submit anything to their local election official which is signed under penalty of perjury and confirms the voter's address.
