I'll never forget the church bells ringing, cars honking, people shouting,
fire stations blasting away and the steel company ( I'm from Ohio) blasting
whistles. Strangers hugging one another, etc. Seemed like it went on forever.

Though I do not, my mother did. She told the story of running outside with pots and pans, joining all the kids in the neighborhood. Her uncle was in the Air Force and while away, his sister bought an engagement ring for him to give to his girlfriend. The youngest of her siblings, he was a hero when he returned. We could sure use shared patriotism like this today, huh?

I lived in that era. You could float on air with the patriotism back then. Everything was rationed and no one seemed to mind. We did with what we had to and that was that. Hardly any crime at all. Lots of Ho Bo's (we call homeless now) due to the lack of work. We had what they call a poor house plus paupers field to bury those who had no money. All that being said, it was sad and tough, but was the happiest times of our lives. All owed to patriotism and love for one another.

We had patriotism after 9/11. Unfortunately, its tough to rally against yourself, and this really is an American vs American issue.
With that said Begin RANT:
Facebook is a wasteland and the vast majority of political posts and shares are either fake, or people are just plain too lazy, or too stupid to look into the details to understand the issue, or truth. I saw this last week with posts/shares about the package bombs not having cancelled stamps, somehow implying it was therefore a liberal effort to sway voters. How exactly would an uncancelled stamp mean it was planted by a liberal? How stupid can one be? Luckily, It only took the FBI a couple of days to find the truth. But here's the thing: If it was a liberal doing this, those morons would have been running around saying "I told you so". No! They'd still be fools. It was terrorism against Americans for an unknown reason, until the reason was determined. If there are two choices, you will always be 50% right and still be an idiot 100% of the time..
The Liberal side can be equally disgusting. I literally could have puked when Hillary, in an interview within the last week or two said Bill wasn't abusing his power with his affair with Monica L because she was an adult. that's not #metoo that's #mememe (whatever I need to say to protect myself and my party).
We have got to stand up on all sides. On Wed, I heard about Kelly Johnston (former Sec of state for Clinton now VP of reg affairs for Campbell Soup) made a ridiculous tweet about George Soros funding the immigrant caravan. I sent an e-mail to Campbell's soup, basically reading back their mission statement of values and tradition and saying there is no way this person fits within that framework. I did not threaten any boycott. Later that day, I read that he was already scheduled to leave in November and they were not changing that. Today it was reported that he got canned (pun intended). It felt good to know that I may have had a part in that.
Someone who's elected: Well, I don't think there is much we can do, except speak with our votes. But for anyone in the business world, I encourage you to speak up. While this was the first time I've done something like that. I'll do the same, again, and against a liberal or a conservative, who I see is clearly spewing garbage to influence people.
End RANT

I wasn't here yet for the end of WWII, but I remember the day we were bombed in 9/11. I've hung up a US flag going on 20plus years. To see others hanging flags was beautiful. Sadly, all this changed quickly over time. People not so touched by that day, younger folks, have no idea what the day felt for us.
Its sad, we lost 3 great soldiers in battle the other day, one a MA native. God bless the families and the USA.
The whole idea to me of the "caravan", its more like an invasion. JBoy, I agree Social media warps people's brains!
