David F. Hyre Obituary
David Frank Hyre, 72, a retired logistics engineer and proud Vietnam Navy veteran; passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in Yuma, Arizona. He was the husband of the late Rochelle Hyre for 42 years. Born July 27, 1946, in Boston, MA. He is survived by his daughter Heather Schauder and her husband Mark of Poway, CA; his son Joshua Hyre and his wife Molly of Norton, MA; and his son Aaron Hyre and his wife Tammy of Mansfield, MA. Beloved Papa to his grandchildren, Leigh Anna, Talia, Alexandrea, Noah, Jacob, and Baylie. Also survived by his sister, Vicki Stier and her husband Dale of Charleston, SC. David was a resident of Brockton, MA for over 35 years and enjoyed keeping up with all the local happenings. He was a smart, talented, and creative man who was known for fixing almost anything himself. David retired in 2013 from Hanscom Airforce Base after 27 years of civil service. After retiring, he moved to Yuma, AZ. He loved living in Yuma and developed many close friendships in his new community. He was an active member of his synagogue there- Congregation Beth Ha Midbar. He enjoyed cooking, researching family genealogy, collecting watches, and caring for his dogs, Ricky and Paloma. Funeral service and interment to be held Wednesday, 4/11/18 at 1:00 p.m. at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA. Please consider a donation to the Veterans organization of your choice in memory of David. He was so proud of his service on the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Fondly known here as MT, he was a longtime contributor here even after he moved to Yuma. I had the pleasure of knowing both David and his late wife Rochelle. His sense of humor and his telling it like it was will be missed. greatly.

Rest in peace.

He was a great guy. Will be missed.

He's coming back home to be close to Rochell, that's good.

Rest in Peace, Dave

Thank you Kathy for posting his obit. He was one classy guy. I’m glad he got to enjoy Arizona for a few years. God speed MT, I enjoyed your insight, common sense and wisdom.
