What is his connection to Tuto Bene? Is he the owner?

Along with this deplorable behavior, Albanese attempted to convince the City Solicitor of an "agreement" regarding Meadow Woods but he was unsuccessful. Albanese retorted with the threat of legal action. Legal action against whom? On what grounds? May he continue to stick his foot into his mouth and act like a jackass. He proved us right with his arrogance and nepotism. Albanese thinks he is above the regulations that apply to everyone else. I would think city officials would want to pull away from him.

If he wants to be respectful, he would send letters to the abutters, attend Planning Board meetings, and follow the rules. There is no reason for a street sign since he has yet to formally present a plan for the road. Remember, West Bridgewater denied the neighborhood. This is utterly ridiculous. He says he will replace the sign, but the DPW Commissioner ultimately approves signage. The Commissioner denies approval of Eaniri Way.

Does anyone else think Albanese's admission "Nevertheless ... the "Eaniri Way" sign was truly meant to honor the city councilor, who has been in office since 2004" is odd? Seems to me he admitted that Eaniri is strong and successful with that statement. In describing Bene Albanese, let's add disingenuous, insincere, dishonest, untruthful, false, deceitful, duplicitous, lying, and hypocritical to his list of adjectives. We will continue to stand up to this twerp.

I would not eat at his restaurant; I do not trust him.

Benjamin Albanese cancelled this meeting AGAIN for the 8th time. He thinks he will wear us down and hopes Carpenter's other friends will win in the November election. There is a Kennedy School ward meeting regarding this topic at 6 pm on October 17 to discuss this matter. All residents are welcome.

I'm sorry, but if a person continually and intentionally misses meetings, the proposal should be closed.

I know, Capt! Wouldn't you think, at some point, the COB would cease participation in this game? Everyone knows what he is doing. I wonder if the same would be allowed for someone who is NOT the Mayor's friend? I hope concerned citizens, even those who are not direct abutters, will come to the Kennedy meeting. This WILL impact those who drive in that area, who rely on Brockton's emergency services, and pay taxes as things shift to the whim of Albanese and friends if a street is approved. As a side note, the land is cleared, the road is all but in (no pavement, but remember the Conservation Commission approved the wetlands interruption), and still no permits. Of course, if he ever does make this official, he must present a firm plan to the abutters (the 3 houses in Brockton is his fallback) as to why a road is necessary. Obviously that is Plan B because if Brockton approves 3 houses, then he is only a step away from punching the road though to his West Bridgewater properly.

This is a battle against Dennis Eaniri, too. Albanese does not appreciate Dennis' support of the neighbors and he hopes that Dennis will lose the election next month so Carpenter's opponent can come in and benefit from whatever they promised her to approve the plan. It is important for folks to support Eaniri, Farwell, Sullivan, Rodrigues, and any others who publicly oppose this in November. If you don't, Carpenter gains more power, a frightening thought. I am not a political person, but this is common sense. The problems in this city can turn around if we support those who agree that change is needed. Albanese, Carpenter, and Cardoso are NOT the SOLUTION.

Unfortunately Albanese will show after the election assuming Carpenter wins.

Voting is real important this year starting at your local level. If you’re in Ward 3 I recommend voting for Dennis E if you don’t want a hand picked Carpenter candidate. Vote for candidates like Farwell, Sullivan etc. who don’t vote strictly along Carpenter’s agenda. Take a look at the Commissions and Board members (who mostly have been appointed by Carpenter). You’ll see several who are running for elected office who are supporting this debacle of a project.

Elections have consequences. Your vote matters.

My good guess is the 3 home owners in Brockton are getting paid well and told to keep their mouths shut.
As hard as we fought the BIG fight over the Trash transfer Station, we lost. How, I'll never know, because we gave it our all.
Can anyone inform me of any proposals that haven't been shady or just plain dumb?

Dad, other than the obvious to whom I refer in my posts, I am unable to discover who else supports this as you mention. Would you direct me to those links or state the names so I can find this?

Capt - there are no three houses or neighbors who support this. The closest abutters are against, one of which put their house up for sale. Not sure where that stands. The person whose front lawn now will be directly located on the street (if approved) is against, but is not willing to step into the spotlight. That is sad, because she stands to lose the most.

The three houses to which I refer is the Plan B - if Albanese is unable to receive a permit for a street to nowhere, they will petition for three houses to be built on 2 acres of Petronelli land on the Brockton side. THEN they will argue, since the street is approved for a 3-lot subdivision, why not punch through to West Bridgewater? The problem with that becomes, a street for three homes in Brockton does not have the same zoning issues as one to a neighborhood in WB. That notion requires many additional approvals. That said, Albanese is a shrewd, arrogant, bully, and only cares about abutters willing to spend money in his restaurant. With the Mayor's obvious support, Allanese wants to bamboozle them as neighbors. The Petronellis are also in on this sham of a project. For the few out there who think this will bring up the value of their Brockton homes, don't count on it. The West Bridgewater residents who will share your sewer, water, and road will be laughing at you as they become the only ones living in that town with sewerage. The increased traffic, potential delay with your first responders, tampering of your wetlands, and all the rest of the issues I discuss in this topic will act against you. Those who are afraid to speak or publicly support the fight against Meadow Woods will be the ones who stay and watch their homes drastically change. The rest of us will move. Some of us bought our homes at such low prices, we can afford to sell them, too.

A victory:

www.enterprisenews.com/news/20180103/bro...le-auctions-in-house

“After members of the City Council voiced objections to the way Brockton auctions off its vacant properties, Mayor Bill Carpenter announced new plans for an in-house real estate custodian to sell abandoned lots and empty houses to the highest bidder. Carpenter touched on the issue during his inauguration address at the War Memorial Building on Monday. Carpenter said he listened to the City Council and, in an effort to build a better relationship, they are working together to bring the real-estate auctions in-house to the Brockton Law Department. “In the spirit of working collaboratively with the council, it is my intention to assign the duties of the real estate custodian to the city solicitor’s office,” Carpenter said.

“During the last five years, former city solicitor Benjamin Albanese has worked part-time as the real estate custodian, collecting a 10 percent buyer’s premium, which was added onto the cost of the properties that were successfully bid on. Albanese said he would then take 20 percent of the buyer’s premium and use it for legal services related to the operation of the auction. During the first four years, the 10 percent premiums have amounted to about $240,000, of which $192,000 was pocketed by Albanese, according to city officials.”

Tell me how this is good for the City? We get no revenue and West Bridgewater gets all revenue. Yet we will have to provide City services. You’re just trolling aren't you? Let’s put an unqualified person on the Zoning Board. And yes, Elections Have Consequences. I didn't and never will vote for Carpenter.

That is rubbish. Clearly you have a connection to Albanese. He doesn't live in Brockton, nor do the other parties involved. His people are doing the work, not Brockton folks. We are good neighbors because we do not charge a toll to the West Bridgewater crowd that flocks to West Chestnut twice each day because they screwed up Route 106 in "their" town.

Cardoso on the Zoning Board is meant to offset her opponent, Dennis Eaniri, who Carpenter hoped would lose to her. She has little influence because the City Council members vote with Dennis, who is opposed. As its President, he has more power than she does.

Dad, I don't know how I missed Albanese's resignation! The Meadow Woods project is now in it's, I think, 12th month of delayed meetings in front of the Planning Board. This change makes me feel very good. Finally the pressure of Albanese's alleged "angry mob" is heard.

Your anger is rather sad. One , we can not charge a toll on public street. Two, I do not even know who this Albanese guy is! Three, this city needs to develop a better reputation as being open minded about projects and development. Adding 30 cars a day to a street is not going to be devastating!!

This whole neighborhood starting Brockton is just plain odd. W. Bridgewater PD/Fire response will be challenging in distance alone. Its sad to see a number of woods knocked down on this part of the city.

On another note..why doesn't the Medical Marijuana shop have a better appearance on West Chestnut? Just adds to the blight of the city. I'm sure they could hire a landscaper. Raking in the dough but not the yard!

To boxerfamily - I'm not angry at all. There is an update. Albanese, though you never heard of him, is slithering in court with no results. He is trying to change an ancient document, stating that it is worthless. Never mind the fact that it would impact hundreds of houses built next to the easement he feels is invalid without any input from those of us living on it. Despite the appearance of more clearing on the West Chestnut Street land, interested residents who care would know this if they attended the latest ward meeting; he has no permit to build. They (Petronellis, the landowners) can mow down trees and plants to clear it, but all they have is a vacant lot. Projected time to get this through court is two years. Then he has to start all over again because the small advances they were granted are now invalid. If he thinks we will forget or stop fighting, he is wrong. Plus, neighbors and ward councilors will also protest their original idea of three houses on that land, because, he still can't put a permanent road or driveway over the easement. We all know if they try to do that, the real goal will be to punch through to West Bridgewater some day. So, you see, I am quite happy! With the new neighborhood already in place around the corner (Farm Road) he may also have folks there who will resist losing their woods.

Lots of "weed", too LOL! You are right, though. When the Zoning Board forced the car wash near Oak Street to remove the Astro Turf that looked nice, it made no sense. Now this building looks awful but that's OK.
