Veteran's Memorial Day Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to place U.S. Flags at the headstones of our beloved members of the U.S. Armed Forces. They will be placing flags on the headstones the week before Memorial Day (May 26). Spring Clean Up TimeBrockton residents, please note that Yard Waste Curbside Collection will resume the week of March 31, 2008. Just a friendly reminder: disposal of leaves within twenty-five (25) feet of rivers and streams is in violation of the Federal Rivers Act and will cause a backup and flooding. A city ordinance also prohibits the raking or blowing of leaves into the city streets. Leaves, grass clippings, weeds and small twigs should be placed in biodegradable paper bags or ....

DW Golf TournamentThe Brockton Historical Society announces that it will be hosting its first annual golf tournament honoring the late D.W. Field. The tournament will be held at D.W. Field Golf Course on Thursday, May 22, 2008. Cub Scout Sign-UpCity wide Sign-ups for Cub Scouts will take place on May 20, 2008 at Brockton HS Green Cafeteria from 7-8PM.

Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program.

Kids Road Races at DW Fields Park

The Kids Road Races have started at DW Field’s park! It’s a 2.2 mile loop run around DW Field for all kids age 14 and under. Races start at 10 AM sharp, with registration at 9:45 AM. There is a participation donation of $1.00 per week. Ribbons are awarded weekly in each age group, and all kids who participate in 4 or more races receive a trophy and commemorative t-shirt at the end of the season.
